This almond milk was made at home with a hand blender, you don’t need an expensive blender to make this at home (although the stronger blenders make this smoother)! And homemade almond milk is much better than store bought. Oh good old milk…….when coming from the cow eating good old grass. Yeah. Well if you cannot find this cow, you can drink almond milk. This is the best replacement to put in your coffee, if you don’t want to drink industry made milk. Or don’t want to drink industry made almond milk either. At least you can reduce garbage by not adding more with the packaging.
Homemade Almond Milk
- 1 cup almond
- 4 cup water
- sweetener like stevia, maple syrup, dates
- pinch of salt
soak the almond for overnight, then strain
blend the almond with 4 cups fresh water
Strain with a nut milk bag or simply with a thin dish towel. Lay the towel over a mixing bowl, pour over the almond milk, gather the corners and lift up. Then squeeze until all of the liquid is extracted.
You can use the leftover almond for baking.
